A full-time Emergency Department Registered Nurse opportunity is available at a 99-bed acute care hospital in Palatka, Florida. Serving North Central Florida, this facility offers 24-hour emergency services and a 10-bed intensive care unit, providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical needs.
The Emergency Department RN delivers comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with both urgent and emergent conditions. This role includes assessing and monitoring patients, identifying changes in condition, administering medications, and adjusting treatment plans based on physician orders and patient response. The nurse reviews diagnostic test results to support clinical decision-making, collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans, and coordinates admissions, transfers, and discharge planning. Accurate documentation and effective communication are essential to ensuring safe, efficient patient care throughout the emergency department.
Responsibilities:
Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients presenting with emergency medical conditions.
Record and report symptoms, vital signs, and changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
Review and interpret diagnostic test results to support patient care decisions.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation in medical records.
Promote a safe, patient-centered environment while delivering high-quality emergency care.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Nursing required.
Minimum of one year of acute care Emergency Department RN experience required.
Active Florida Registered Nurse license or approved multistate compact RN license required (Florida licensure within 60 days if applicable).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced emergency care environment.
