Your impact

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 0 to 2 years of experience in environmental remediation and regulatory compliance. Experience providing field oversight of remedial action construction activities, including maintaining detailed logs, performing QA/QC, ensuring compliance with site-specific health and safety plans and applicable regulations, and contributing to long-term environmental restoration goals. Strong team player.

Core Responsibilities / Competencies

• Provide field oversight of remedial action construction activities, including observation and documentation of work performed by contractors.
• Support quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews of field activities and associated documentation.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with approved health and safety plans (e.g., HASP).
• Maintain detailed field logs and documentation, including daily observations, stakeholder interactions, results of field testing, and conformance with approved project plans (e.g., RAWP, QAPP, HASP).
• Document and communicate deviations from approved plans, including supporting records such as field notebooks, logs, photographs, and/or videography, as appropriate.
• Perform additional remedial action oversight and technical support activities.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or closely related field.

• Valid drivers license is required.
• United States Citizenship required.
• 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.

Ideally you'll also have:

• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety
• CPR/First Aid Certified
• Experience conducting environmental monitoring and Sampling Experience (groundwater, soil, and/or sediment)
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams toward a common goal.
• QA/QC Oversight and Documentation
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data.
• Local to Chattanooga, TN

Posted Salary Range: Minimum

41,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

66,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $41,000.00 to $66,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
