Salary: $100,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

• We want a B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• We prefer 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, though we will consider candidates with less experience who have shown strong commitment to early-stage startup environments.
• We are looking for proven experience as a principal engineer, cloud architect, and/or technical lead.
• We need strong full-stack expertise, including Node.js, Python, JavaScript/React, SQL and relational databases, Linux, and shell scripting.
• We value deep cloud infrastructure experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud, including Kubernetes, Terraform or CloudFormation, Docker, and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with remote or edge devices, imagery pipelines, or aviation and weather systems is a plus.
• We need someone based in Alaska, or willing to relocate, with the ability to travel regularly to our shop in Palmer/Wasilla.

• We will rely on you to own all software development for the MWOS, including cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, data and imagery collection systems, and remote fleet management.
• You will lead the architecture, development, and ongoing maintenance of our full software stack, including Stratus and FlightVis.
• You will design, deploy, secure, and monitor cloud-native infrastructure that supports 24/7 remote weather observation.
• You will work closely with hardware engineers and manufacturing technicians to integrate software with sensors, cameras, and embedded systems.
• You will establish and uphold engineering standards for code review, testing, documentation, security, and observability.
• You will manage software contractors and consultants when needed, and provide project schedules, cost estimates, and technical planning to leadership.
• You will support customer deployments, troubleshooting, and field operations, including regular work at our Palmer/Wasilla shop.
