Part-Time Bartender (Hotel W XYZ Bar ) – Weekdays (Mon–Fri)

Aloft San Jose Cupertino : 4241 Moorpark Ave, San Jose, CA 95129

Pay : $20 per hour + tips

Schedule : Part-Time | Monday–Friday

Join Our Team at Aloft Cupertino (W XYZ Bar) : Aloft Cupertino and Aloft San Jose Cupertino, modern Marriott-branded hotels in the heart of Silicon Valley, are seeking a Part-Time Bartender to join our vibrant W XYZ Bar team. What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Prepare, mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to brand standards
• Provide exceptional guest service in a friendly, professional, and engaging manner
• Take orders, make recommendations, and upsell beverages to enhance the guest experience
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times
• Operate Micros POS system (order entry, check presentation, payment processing)
• Ensure compliance with California liquor laws and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) standards
• Monitor guest behavior and refuse service when appropriate (intoxication/minors)
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, drink recipes, and daily specials
• Anticipate guest needs and provide prompt, attentive service—even during busy periods
• Promote a positive guest experience by being knowledgeable about hotel services and local attractions
• Assist with monthly inventory and bar organization

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

• Previous experience as a bartender or mixologist (hotel or high-volume bar preferred)
• Must be 21+ years of age (required to serve alcohol in California)
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits
• Experience with POS systems (Micros preferred)
• RBS Certification (required)
• Food Handler Certification (required or ability to obtain)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate with guests in English (bilingual skills a plus)
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented with a positive, outgoing personality
