Job Description

Role Overview:

This position involves crafting realistic, context-rich scenarios and generating high-quality data for training next-generation AI systems. The focus is on producing user-directed outputs in Japanese while adhering to structured guidelines. This role is ideal for candidates with strong language skills and a keen attention to detail, and does not require technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and refine natural, high-quality queries in Japanese.
  • Write expected outputs in Japanese that reflect correct and fluent responses.
  • Translate key components into English to support internal validation workflows.
  • Collect and reference supporting sources to ensure queries are grounded and verifiable.
  • Follow structured guidelines to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across all generated data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate on outputs and improve data quality.

Qualifications:

  • Multilingual capabilities are mandatory (English and Japanese): Ability to read and write in both languages with high comprehension skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in content writing, translation, or localization.
  • Ability to follow structured guidelines and work within defined workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor''s degree or undergraduate in Engineering, Literature, Journalism, Communications, Arts, Statistics, or a related field. Candidates without a Bachelor''s degree but with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience creating datasets for LLMs (prompt writing, SFT, RLHF, evaluation benchmarks, red teaming, QA).

Work Terms:

  • Commitments Required: At least 4 hours per day and a minimum of 20 hours per week, with 4 hours of overlap with PST.
  • Engagement Type: Contractor assignment/freelancer (no medical/paid leave).
  • Duration of Contract: 3 months (with potential for extension).
  • This role requires some overlap with UTC-8:00 (4 hours/day) America/Los_Angeles.
