Bard College seeks a Director of Regulatory Compliance. This is a full-time, exempt, 12 month per year position that reports to the Vice President for Institutional Planning and Research. The Director supports Bard's institutional capacity to ensure compliance with a wide variety of local, state, federal, and international compliance requirements.
The Director advises Bard College faculty and staff on policies, guidelines, and regulations set by governments and other regulatory bodies. The Director must stay up-to-date with current regulations, develop policies and processes to help meet these requirements, and monitor these practices while maintaining all records required to certify compliance. ESSENTIAL tasks
»Support the work of standing compliance committees such as the Institutional Review Board, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and the Information Stewardship Council
»Perform and monitor screening of international entities engaged in Bard sponsored activities, particularly for Bard's work with the Open Society University Network (OSUN)
»Perform foreign gift reporting to the U.S. government
»Help in the accreditation of academic programs
»Maintain significant records of domestic and international compliance activities
»Perform analysis of compliance requirements in contracts and agreements REQUIRED expertise, expertise, and ABILITIES
»BA or BS degree
» 3-5 years of practice in compliance-related activities, preferably at an institution of higher learning
» expertise of grant and contract language
» practice with interpreting U.S. government regulations
»Refined professional writing and communication expertise
»Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
»Passionate interest in working at an institution that is a private college for the public good PHYSICAL DEMANDS
»Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work in standard office environment
»Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds
»Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed TO APPLY
