• We are hiring immediately for a full time PATIENT TRANSPORTER LEAD position.
• Address : Sacred Heart Emerald Coast - 7800 US Highway 98 West, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. Note: online applications accepted only .
• Schedule : Full time schedule. 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Days may vary. Further details upon interview. 
• Requirement : Prior patient transporting experience preferred. 
• Perks: Paid training!
• Fixed Pay Rate:  $19.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs daily work of other patient transporters and reports inadequate performance to Supervisor.
• Trains new and existing employees; updates personnel files. Follows up on complaints and reports them to the Supervisor.
• Evaluates work requirements and assignments; ensures efficient use of employees and distribution of work load.
• Demonstrates competency in transporting all specific age-groups.
• Ensures the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to their destination; brings the proper requested equipment.
• Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, or reception and dispatch.
• Ensures patient comfort by being attentive; offers blankets, checks modesty and only engages in appropriate conversation involving patients. Never transports patients in severe pain.
• Immediately alerts nursing staff to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintains equipment and reports equipment needing repairs.
• Complies with regulator agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO.
• Adheres to facility confidentiality and patients’ rights policy as outlined in the facility's HIPPA policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
