Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced healthcare professional to provide comprehensive psychiatric and mental health care across a variety of patient needs. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and help manage mental health conditions while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes. The ideal candidate brings clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental health assessments, and ongoing follow-up visits.
  • Diagnose and manage a range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and care teams.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and state regulations.
  • Provide psychotherapy, supportive counseling, and patient education when appropriate.
  • Monitor treatment response, adjust care plans, and document patient progress accurately.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
  • Respond to crisis situations and assist with safety planning and appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records.
  • Stay current with best practices, evidence-based treatment approaches, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing with advanced practice preparation in psychiatric mental health.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse in the relevant state.
  • Board certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
  • Prescriptive authority or eligibility to obtain prescriptive authority, as applicable.
  • Experience providing psychiatric care in outpatient, inpatient, community, or related settings.
  • Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses, psychopharmacology, and treatment planning.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative care environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan.
  • Background in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or integrated behavioral health.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation best practices.
  • Additional experience in psychotherapy modalities or substance use treatment.
