Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients in a fast-paced acute care setting. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care. The nurse will manage a high volume of patient visits daily and support various units including observation and ER hold patients. A minimum of one year of experience and an active California RN license are required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and administer medications as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare team members.
• Provide nursing care to patients across 20 rooms and 26 beds, managing an average daily census of 105 patients.
• Float between the ER and Observation Unit to cover patient care needs as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient status and care activities.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including infection control and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (pending licenses not accepted).
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Own scrubs (no prints allowed) for work attire.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with float assignments covering multiple patient care units.
• Previous ER nursing experience handling diverse patient populations and acuity levels.

Special Considerations:

• Weekend work required: 3 out of every 6 weekends.
• Float requirement to cover Observation Unit and ER hold patients.
• Requested Time Off (RTO) limited to no more than 7 days.
• Call requirement is not applicable for this role.

Scheduling:

• Shifts assigned to cover 20 rooms and 26 beds with an average census of 105 patients daily.
• Work schedule includes weekend rotations as specified.
