The purpose of this job:
The UAT Test Lead provides strategic leadership for User Acceptance Testing within Project Axis, ensuring that business value is validated early, risks are surfaced quickly, and product increments meet user and operational expectations.
The role drives collaboration across business and technical teams, promotes Agile testing practices, and ensures UAT and regression cycles are predictable, transparent, and outcome driven.
Operating with a high level of professionalism, the postholder enables Business SMEs and Business Testers to confidently plan, prepare and execute UAT, culminating in evidence-based assurance aligned to the Digital Test Framework.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Lead the UAT vision and approach, shaping how business teams validate value, and ensuring alignment with test strategy, Agile delivery principles and the Digital Test Framework.
Promote Agile testing culture by encouraging early engagement, continuous feedback, and collaborative refinement of user stories to improve testability and quality.
Embed a practical, lightweight UAT framework with stakeholders, focusing on transparency, shared ownership and flow across increments.
Ensure high-quality readiness for UAT, validating that upstream sprint testing provides sufficient evidence, traceability and coverage.
Actively participate in key Agile ceremonies (refinement, show and tell, planning) to surface risks early and influence quality outcomes.
Partner with the SIT Test Lead to ensure seamless transition into UAT and alignment of entry/exit expectations for each PI.
Champion readiness across environments, data and access, removing blockers proactively and enabling business testers to begin work without delay.
Coach SMEs and Business Testers on scenario design and value focused testing so UAT reflects real-world user journeys.
Drive collaborative and efficient test reviews, ensuring decisions are timely and aligned with governance without unnecessary process overhead.
Provide clear leadership during UAT execution, offering guidance, removing impediments, and enabling business testers to progress effectively.
Lead outcome driven defect triage, fostering quick prioritisation and decision making based on business value and user impact.
Maintain strong visibility of progress and risks through transparent, real time dashboards in Azure DevOps.
Deliver continuous test assurance during UAT, validating evidence and coverage to support quality focused release decisions.
Work closely with the Digital Test Assurance Lead to enable a smooth, evidence-based UAT exit process.
Oversee final regression testing with automation, system and business teams, championing a risk based, efficient and value-oriented approach.
